11-374 Meadowood point made from heat treated Flint Ridge chert. Though rare in Ohio, the design for this type my have been inspired by western New York points made from Onondaga chert. Ohio specimens are usually larger, heavier in cross section and made from Upper Mercer cherts with the rare exception being one made from Flint Ridge material. The NY points are associated with the Late Archaic Meadowood Culture and Ohio points may have been used by the Glacial Kame people, but non have been found in their burials.
